The UX work we presented helped the Product and Development teams focus the project around a consumer end users (a generic multi-ethnic, multi-aged, multi-gender user set with varying levels of digital affinity). Without further research effort to allow for a targeted UX effort around specific user empathic landscapes (needs and expectations) we took a general best practice approach to this complex data form. This involved segmenting the content in to logical sections that would allow the user to complete the task without being cognitively overwhelmed. In addition, guidance was provided at the outset to inform the user of the the average completion time and the required documentation. Finallyin addition, when presenting the form content to the user we designed the screen screens with a mobile first approach, therefore allowing the form to be responsively portrayed to the user users across a range of devices from Desktop to Tablet to Mobile. Finally, a best practice UI design was applied that could be easily skinned to accommodate customer’s own brand guidelines.
