Introduction
This page will allow you to set up and use the unsubscribe to marketing emails link.
How to find the system setting
Navigate to the Email Templates in the system settings page
Home > System Settings > Email Templates
How to set up the email
Create a new template and give it a name and subject (Unsubscribe to Marketing) or add the merge field to a current template where individuals may want to unsubscribe
Once you have done this, on the right hand side of the screen you will find the merge fields. Scroll down to ‘Other Details’ and click to show the fields. At the bottom you will see a ‘UnsubscribeLink’ field. Add this to the email.
Then click ‘Save Email Template’
Using the Email Template
After you have created this template it is ready to use.
Find your client / applicant individual you would like to send this to and click on their email.
Select the template you have created.
You should see a Hyperlink that says ‘Unsubscribe’ as shown on the right.
Then send the email.
What the link does
Once the email has been sent, the customer individual should receive an email that looks like the example on the right
When the customer individual clicks on the link it should take them to the following page
Once the customer individual has clicked the ‘Unsubscribe’ button they should be redirected to another page
Once complete, the ‘Consent’ for marketing should have automatically changed to ‘Consent Withdrawn’
