Introduction

A related product, is a product that has a relationship with another product. eKeeper CRM enables an associative relationship between two products. It houses representations of these relationships in the Related Products Panel (see right).

You can define new relationships in addition to the ones that come with eKeeper CRM. Our example picture to the right shows the product relationship is covered by to denote any products that a product provides cover for.

Tip

You can define new product relationships by heading to System settings > Product Relationships. Note you will need to have the permission Can maintain product relationships enabled for your usergroup.

This article provides an overview of what the related products panel is and how to use it on your products

RELATED PRODUCTS PANEL

Related Products panel overview.

The related products panel lists any products that are currently related with the product you are viewing or the applicants that are associated with the case you are accessing.

When creating a new product within a case, eKeeper CRM will list a set of complimentary products these are products that considered a necessity for the product you are viewing.

For example you may wish to set your CRM so that life cover is a complimentary product to a mortgage and this will allow you to see if the life cover has been sold on the mortgage you are viewing.

The next two subsections shows a comparison of how an entry in the related products panel looks if a complimentary product has been created and also if the complimentary product has not been created.

Complimentary Product Created

In this scenario, a mortgage product has been created and accessed, the eKeeper CRM has then generated a row for a complimentary Life & CIC product. We have then associated a Life & CIC product with the mortgage product we created.

The screenshot below shows an entry in the related products panel for a mortgage product we are currently viewing. The entry shows that a Life & Critical Illness Cover product is complimentary to our mortgage, we can also see that we have associated a life and CIC product with the reference CIC-1 and that this covers the mortgage we are viewing.

Note

  • The Life & Critical Illness cover product can be accessed by the CIC-1 link that appears under the product column.
  • We can see that the Life & Critical illness Cover product is currently at the Quotation Provided status.

Complimentary product not created

In this scenario, we have created a product and accessed it. eKeeper CRM has again generated a list of complimentary product types in this case Permanent Health Insurance (PHI).

We can see from this entry that we do not currently have an associated PHI product. So in this scenario we would either click Link Related Product or we would click Create New Permanent Health Insurance, in order to associate a new or existing product with the product we're currently viewing.

Note

  • The Product and status columns are empty, this shows that we have not yet associated a Permanent Health Insurance Product with this product.
